The Question We Get Most

How do you make a craft resin cart (no distillate, single-source flower, small batch) and sell it for $25 out the door?

Fair question. Most resin carts on the California market retail between $35 and $60. We wanted to prove that quality doesn’t have to come with a premium tax.

No Outside Investors

This is the biggest factor. We built Alive & Well without venture capital, which means we don’t have investors demanding high margins to hit return targets. Every dollar we make goes back into the operation. That means we can price for volume and accessibility instead of margin.

Direct Farm Relationships

We don’t buy flower on the spot market. Our long-term relationships with Humboldt County farmers give us preferred pricing and first refusal on top lots. When you’ve been working with the same growers for years, the economics work differently than one-off purchases through brokers.

Vertical Efficiency

We handle extraction, formulation, and filling in-house at our lab in Arcata. No contract manufacturers, no middlemen taking a cut at each step. Our custom-built extraction system is designed for efficiency without sacrificing quality. We can process more material per run while maintaining the same terpene preservation standards.

Scale Without Compromise

We’re in nearly 100 dispensaries across California. That volume allows us to spread fixed costs across more units. But we’ve been intentional about scaling. We didn’t chase growth before we had the process dialed. The product had to be right first.

What You’re Not Paying For

No marketing agency. No influencer deals. No fancy packaging redesigns every quarter. We put the money into what goes inside the cartridge, not what goes around it.
